Benefits of Timber Frame

Timber Frame homes are increasing in popularity. In 1999 only 8.1% of the entire house’s built in the U.K where timber frame. By 2006 that had increased to 20.5% and with new building regulations this market share is going to rise even more sharply. With the increased pressure from the government for country to build more sustainable homes, with better carbon foot prints and better use of economical insulation, timber frame construction has become the forefront of home building in recent times.

When building a traditional brick and blockhouse, each stage of your build must be completed before the next stage starts. For example the foundation must be complete before the bricklayer can start laying the bricks and blocks. When building a timber house the manufacturing process can be done at the same time as your foundations.

Once our timber frame structure is on site it can be erected and water tight in just two days. Now the house is watertight the internal works can begin and be completed whilst your external works are been completed

When building your new home the majority of the costs are in the labour involved. By cutting the build time you cut your labour cost and reduce the overall cost of your build. With our system the saving don’t stop there, due to the unique way our system is erected you can save between 40 – 45% of your scaffolding cost and 100% of the fall arrest system. The inside of your new timber frame home is ‘timber’, this is a totally sealed structure, therefore no heat can be lost compared to block work. This will make your home up to 40% more heat efficient than a blockhouse.

Environment

The process used in manufacturing timber frame homes is proven to be environmentally friendly. Deciding to go timber frame will lower the harmful green house gasses being released into the atmosphere compared to block making and other concrete productions. There’s also less of an impact on water pollution, and the trees used to make the timber frame house are cut from managed forests.
